Hi,

If anyone cares to listen in, I’ll be chatting about MUni on MTV this wednesday June 4th, on a show called MTV Select. This might only play in Canada; I’m not sure.

There’s an interesting irony in being given a public voice to express something I think is important, by a station well known for denying others the right to free speech.

Is anyone likely to be recording this on digital media so we can download it?

I’m in England and MTV isn’t an option.

There seems to be LOADS of unicyclist publicity all of a sudden.

Hmmmm, they don’t want to play something on the station THEY OWN that tells people to turn off the thing that allows this COMPANY to make a PROFIT? How absurd!

Let’s see if we can pay Kelloggs some money to put ‘Don’t eat this stuff’ labels on their boxes!

Okay, so what about this (followed by this)

Airtime for B52 songs as serious risk for safety of a country, that’s clear.
But censoring a compilation of real actual events in the videoclip of “Boom”… is different stuff as freedom of speech of your Kellog’s opinion, don’t you think?

I am of the belief that a station is NOT violating anyone’s right to free speech when they don’t air what they don’t want to air. The only exception for this, IMHO, would be for news stations and news programs, etc. That being said, I don’t always agree with what MTV airs, and doesn’t air.

Ok, enough with the politics. Does anyone know that uni program they will be airing? And anyone know if it will be shown in the States?

Isn’t MuniTV and MTV redundant?

This week’s TV listings don’t show “MTV Select” but there are a couple “MTV Specials” Wednesday evening. I’ll have to check the cable listings later this week.

Ooh, I hope the show comes on in the U.S.! Enter the Thunder Dragon is pretty cool… it would be more of a cultural education video, not much unicycling… but still, cool. By the way, as this is my first time seeing you (Kris) here…

Hi,

Just got back from the MTV gig. It was pretty fun- the two guests were myself and a band called Sky (<www.skytheband.com>).

Mainly it was just MTV-style fast-edited Q&A with a stoked up studio audience, plus some video clips, demo riding, and I got the (very cute!) host on the unicycle.

Mainly I was pleased to find out the lead guitarist of Sky actually rides a unicycle too- could even one foot idle to my surprise. They never showed that part on TV though- too bad.

I looked out for it but I didn’t see when it was coming on on that day. Maybe they didn’t show it in the U.S. :frowning:
