Muni Injuries

I’ve had a few injuries during the learning path on my Uni. Kicked the floor on one occasion and convinced I broke my toe. Took about 6months to heal but not painful enough to stop me riding :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Other than that, the pedals can whip the back of my calf’s drawing blood if I have to make abrupt stops. I thought using plastic pedals would reduce the risk but seems any spikes on a pedal married with the force of a 26” wheel crank is enough to break your skin .
I’ve since bought these Lycra sleeves with foam inserts (shin pads) which I rotate to protect the back of my calf. So far they’ve done the job.
Generally I agree with comments that you can jump off to avoid injury.
