MUni in the rain... that's nice.

On Friday I found this really great place to MUni close to my house (within riding distance) Yea…

So today I wanted to MUni there again but my son wanted to go and it was raining really hard. I reluctantly allowed him to go with me figuring he would get discouraged and want to go home or ride on the streets. Oh man I couldn’t have been more wrong, and I am so glad I had the camera with me!

He took to MUni riding on his first run and made it farther into the trail before dumping his load than I did. If wasn’t so proud of him, I’d probably be nursing mt hurt feelings right now.

Checkout these pics, they’re an absolute hoot!

He’s only five and he’s my new (and only) MUni partner. We were gone so long my wife was getting worried and came looking for us. He was a maniac and kept wanting to ride the trail again and again (I’m grinning from ear-to-ear).

He described it so, “this is the best time I ever had on my unicycle”.

Erin… I found shoes that allowed me to ride in the rain really well. I have some hiking shoes from ‘The North Face’ that didn’t slip at all on my United’s plastic pedals. I will be wearing them from now on… you can see them in the photo of me and my son.

Cheers,

Jason

That is awesome. Want to let me adopt the kid?

Jason-

Fantastic shots. Didn’t you write that Gabe hasn’t yet ridden a bike? Hope your daughter goes next time too.

Harper,

Thanks. He was really book’n down the trail on that 16" wheel! He can’t
freemount so I had to help him mount and them run like mad down the
trail to snap a shot, then when I was going back for my Uni he would
just disappear into the woods. I’ve never laughed so hard in my life.

No. He has a two wheel bike, but he doesn’t much like riding it now.

Yes me too. Unfortunately my daughter doesn’t have interest in trail
riding. :frowning: She and I still have nice rides together- just not on the
trails. Maybe someday, but I’m not pushing it.

Cheers,

Jason

MUni at 5?! Wow! That’s absolutely brilliant…

Wow that is fantastic Jason!

Your family is great.

Yeah, you are right about those shoes - they look great for grip in the
rain. I’m also getting some cool pedals from Darren Bedford that should
keep my foot on the pedals this winter!

Cheers,
Erin

I spend most of my time siting in the trail, looking at my cycle, wondering what happend- it’s nice to know this is true for the Muni-King, too! Great pics, thanx! I think everything I rode a 5 was either a big wheel or Green-machine- my early experience with training wheels left me with a broken arm! If only they had given me just ONE wheel…
