Does anyone know if there might be any muni stuff happening at NUC
besides on the tailing weekend? I’m trying to convince a friend to come
up, but she can’t stay for the weekend. (I think just the promise of a
group of people going out on the trails would be enough to convince her
to show up.)
Well, despite the fact that there are no official MUni/trials rides
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday I think you’ll find something to keep
yourself interested.
Tuesday, I could definitely see a few MUni riders getting together to go
ride. We’ll have a few MUni riders present Tuesday and the artistic stuff
will more than likely bore them (myself included), so there is a good
chance there will be a ride somewhere that day.
Wednesday is the city tour in the morning and “on your own thing” in the
afternoon. I would not at all be surprised if a bunch of the trials riders
or MUni riders got together in the afternoon to go and ride. In the
evening we have the public show … Kris Holm will do a trials demo at the
show, so that will be awesome. After the public show there will be a group
social at a pub … we’ll show videos (Universe for sure) and just have a
good time.
Thursday will be mostly devoted to setting up the trials equipment,
while the racing is going on, for Friday’s big Trials Jamboree. We could
certainly use the help. I can’t promise that the stuff will be ridable
Thursday, but I imagine some of it will be. We’ve even got a scrap car
to jump on.
All in all it should be a good time even though you’ll miss the “real”
MUni/trials stuff. It would be great if you could make it. Registering as
a non competitor is probably best. For issurance purposes you’ll also need
to be a USA member, which you should be able to register for at the
convention.
