Either Klaas is trying to skew the statistics for number of posts per day, or something is up with the forum/Klaas’s PC/the news>forum gateway.
I was really impressed with the amount of input to the “Going Down Hill” thread, 200+ messages. Maybe Gilby has decided to go the same way as TV in the UK for increasing content - regular repeats at short intervals
Mr. Continuity Announcer - “And coming up next, the programme we showed a couple of hours ago, but we thought you might have missed it so here it is again”
Something was causing the gateway script to crash. It’d pull a couple messages and then crash and not store where it left off so it’d pull the same message the next time it got executed (which is every 5 minutes). It wasn’t Klaas’ messages that were at fault, just that his messages were the next to be pulled from the newsgroup when the script failed.

Ah, thanks Gilby for telling us. And Graeme, maybe the statistics on
the forum are skewed (screwed?) now, but I plan to do another stats
page for 2002 based on r.s.u. and those data are still as clean as
they can be.
I haven’t noticed any unusual number of messages from Klass lately.
And if any were repeats they slipped by me.

The software that pulls the messages from the newsgroup and copies them here in the web forum got stuck in a loop. It fortunately didn’t affect the newsgroup, and it appears that posts made from the web forum still made it onto the newsgroup.
It was actually kind of funny. Gilby probably didn’t find it funny, but I found humor in the fact the the repeated threads broke the record for the number of replies in the “Tastelessness” thread. One of the threads got over 400 replies all from Klaas.
well couldnt there be a possibility that it is slightly Klass’ fault. After all, it happens quite often that Klass repeats his posts two or three times.
