Come out for some muni rides this weekend (7th and 8th december) , you know you want to, these are good long rides and well worth travelling a little to get yourself to.
So the deal is, a couple of muddy rides in the (excellent fun) North Downs area, details below, come to either or both if you feel like it.
I’ve got room in my flat nearish to London for anyone who needs to stay over, which has very good trains to the stations the rides start from.
The rides - if you want to see the route you can find most of the places mentioned on http://www.streetmap.co.uk . I know the area well so we shouldn’t be getting lost.
I’ve included cut down circuits for people who don’t want a full long ride. You’d need a car for these to get to the start points.
Anyone interested in either or both of these rides, give me a mail to say you’re coming including mobile no if you have one on email@example.com
For any organisation on the day, my mobile is (07905) 696 427
Meet 10:30am for 11:00 start at Boxhill and Westhumble Station which is here - http://www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?G2M?X=516779&Y=151886&A=Y&Z=3
Probable route: Big nasty climb to Ranmore common, nice downhill from there, then heading across towards Abinger Hammer then up onto Holmbury Hill which has a whole bunch of trails heading off it, a lovely and quite technical man-made cross country route to Peaslake where there’s a food shop, a long rolling set of bmx style bombholes and a lovely long single track route off the hill to finish it. Followed by either a ride straight back to Boxhill station and the pub there if tiredness is kicking in, or possibly along the greensands way to Leith Hill and maybe on to Dorking which has lots of pubs and is a very short ride away from Boxhill station.
Place to meet for a cut down circuit -
Public car park at Holmbury YHA - here

Probable route: Up a not impossible climb to Ranmore Common, down the other side into Westcott. Up to Leith Hill Tower (which sells home made cake and stuff like that), ride Summer Lightning which is a super new trail I helped build and is pretty cool, go to pub for lunch at Plough in Coldharbour - here - http://www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?G2M?X=515120&Y=144130&A=Y&Z=3
After that heading back into Dorking by fast or slow route depending on light and tiredness.
Place to meet for a cut down circuit - car park in Broadmoor - probably about 12:30 - here
Things to bring - Snack food, money for pub lunch on sunday, some kind of waterproof top / kagoule, muni (fat 24" or 26" wheel).
