You know it. With the rotator cuff issue, I’m 300+ miles back on where I usually am with training this time of year. Yesterday was actually my first clean climb of the Issaquah Fall City hill this year, where usually by mid-Aug I’ve been up and down it a dozen times at least. I’ll likely survive the intermitent hills on the MS course, but I’d explode on 542.
So your only about a week or two behind on your training schedule? I never seem to be trained to where I want to be. And I’m not flying all over like you. It’s must be hard for you to consistsantly build up to the MS Ride.
These guys really kicked butt up there. There weather was rotten the whole time. Some of the bikers that payed to ride didn’t even show up. I am so proud of both of them. GREAT JOB JOE AND JEFF
Ride542 - Mt. Baker Hill Climb is Sunday, September 11th, 2011
The ride is normally 24.5 mile cycling challenge for recreation, competitive and first time cyclists of all ages. But they are forced to shorten it 3 km this year due to excessive snow from last winter. ***This is your chance to do a shorter ride if the killer last 3 km have been intimidating you from signing up.
The current plan for the RIDE 542 follows the Mt. Baker Highway (SR542) from the town of Glacier (e. 955ft) 22.5 miles to where the road is closed at Heather Meadows Visitors Center (e. 4443 ft), on the border of North Cascades National Park.
