The damn thing keeps turning itself on! I have no idea why. It doesn’t open a window or create a tray icon, it just hangs there and logs me in. I kill it with the task manager and in a few minutes it’s back on again. It’s getting really annoying.
The main thing that I don’t like in my contact list can see when I’m online and it takes up precious memory(10MB is pretty steep for a messenger program anyway, don’t you think?). I’m considering writing a program that will kill it unless there is another way I can deal with it.
PC Magazine (pcmag.com?) has made a little piece of free software called Startup Cop. Don’t know if it’s still current, but it shows you a list of all the stuff that starts when you log in to Windows, with options to keep them from starting. That’s the beginning. If you’re like me, you will want to uninstall the evil thing as well.
The only problem I see is that it doesn’t have Fruity Loops. I’ve seen some GNU sequencers, but they are kinda crap. Maybe FL will work under wine. Probably not. I’ll have to try.
