MS Office users

Could you open my resume and see if openoffice outputs word docs ok? It’s
just a simple table so it should be ok, but just to play it safe.

Re: MS Office users

Yep it’s formatted fine. My suggestion would be to make the table
border invisible and to spell defense with an “s”.

Re: MS Office users

Forgot to mention, I’m using Word2000 here.

Re: MS Office users

Looks fine to me. I agree with Deborah on the invisible table. See pic below…

Don’t have MSOffice but it looks okay in WordViewer97 (2000 Edition)

Re: MS Office users

In Word, you’d right-click the table and select “Borders and Shading.”

I got it now. I had OOo set to display the table limits, so when I turned
off the borders I still saw them.

Re: MS Office users

I tried to deal with a resume using Openoffice, but its compatibility with
Word when using complex tables was less than stellar. was a real headache. I
love it otherwise but I found it useful only with simple documents. I had to
end up exporting to PDF as the only format saver. Maybe it will get better,
but just a word tot he wise if they are hoping for the good conversion.

Re: MS Office users

John, post one here and I’ll try opening it from home. I have OfficeXP
there.
