mp3 burning program for PC?

So what mp3 burning program would you recommend for someone running Windows XP on a PC? I’d like to make some mp3 cd’s to play on my car stereo that I recently had installed. And it would be nice to have a program that showed the titles of the songs unlike itunes which I understand can do mp3 burning but the cd will not have the song titles on it.

Nero Burning Software , would be ideal, but it costs money.

But…

HERE IS A SITE that has a ton of different burning programs, take your pick.

Nero rules! I use it a lot.

Oh imagine that, I have Nero Express on my 'puter already. Will that do?

Do you know if it will show the titles once the mp3’s are burned onto disc?

It should, it does with my computer, and my soundsystem at home.

Are you wanting to make an audio CD that can play on any CD player?

You can add CD-TEXT to an audio CD. CD players that support CD-TEXT will be able to display the title of the song that is being played.

If your car CD player supports CD-TEXT then that is probably what you’re thinking about.

Nero can add CD-TEXT for each track when it makes an audio CD. Burrrn is a freeware program that also create audio CDs with CD-TEXT.

I think she wants to make an Mp3 disk for a Mp3 CD player. The file names should show up if your cd player is capable of doing that. When you make a Mp3 cd the file names stay the same when put onto the cd unlike how regular cds are Track1.wav ext…

Open up nero express and click Music then “mp3 disc” add your Mp3’s to the list you can put them in diffrent folders for diffrent alblums and such, you will beable to select the folder on the cd player. now burn it.

Just use itunes. Free, easy. You can decide whether to do mp3 or audio cd’s in Edit=> Burning.

oh crap, i totally missed the part about itunes… is that true- I think I have an mp3 cd player (discman style) that shows track names from itunes burned cds, bu I may be mistaken… anyway, sorry 'bout the quick draw…

Most MP3 Players read what’s called an ID3 tag, a bit of the mp3 file that lists the song name, artist, etc. If the ID3 tag isn’t there, they just show the file name (ie, “The Drinking Song.mp3” instead of something like “The Drinking Song – Moxy Fruvous”

Nero will work fine for burning… If you want to rip CD’s that you already own to mp3, find a program that will get the song titles/album info from the net automaticly… I don’t know what does this in Windows (in linux GRip will do it nicely)

or most media players will let you edit the ID3 tag after you’ve ripped the mp3

Thanks guys, this has been really helpful. I’m working on it now…
