Some of the Merkins (especially John Foss) were so fascinated by my
lawnmower that I said I’d have to get Catherine to film me next time I mowed
the lawn.
Before anyone goes to the trouble of downloading it on a dialup connection,
you should know that the file is almost 3MB and it’s not particularly
exciting. There’s no beer, and I didn’t even manage to mow in a terribly
straight line, but at least I’m on a unicycle. I’ll delete it in a couple
of weeks, because it’s taking up nearly 20% of my webspace.
The bit where I seem to be struggling at the beginning is because the handle
is too low to use from atop a 26" Muni, so I had the mower tilted relative
to the ground (which stops it hovering). I’d have gone for another take,
but I didn’t realise it looked like that until I’d finished mowing the lawn
and uploaded the file to my computer.
And yes, it really has been that long since I last mowed my lawn. For the
past 3 weeks it hasn’t stopped raining long enough for the grass to dry
enough to be mowed.
i got dail-up,but who could resist not seeing that act?3MB is nothing.you need one of those helmets that holds two beer cans and has a drinking tube going to your mouth…oh wait here’s a picture of one in action

There used to be. I think Toro sold them. I remember
seeing the ads on (American) TV. I know people had them
in Canada in the 1970s. No sign now though. A look
for “Flymo” in dejanews turns up a mixture of sentiments
about them.
