Tying the Knot is a documentary about the issues surrounding same sex marriage.
I recommend it.
It is not “fair and balanced” in that the film makers, I believe, clearly favor allowing homosexuals to marry each other. But it does present a view into the lives of individuals many people either don’t know or choose not to know and so readily dismiss.
It follows the emotional as well as legal and financial cases of several couples including a farmer who is evicted from his farm after his husband, the mortgage holder, dies and a woman who can not collect the pension of her wife, a Florida police officer killed in the line of duty.
