Mouth Shocker!

I was at my dentist this morning.
He said i had some ligaments or something with my jaw, he said it would heal on its own, but blamed it on unicycling.
He said the shock from jumping, and how much you do it, could of caused the damage, personally i think he is wrong, for some reason I always jump with my mouth open. Has anything like this happened, or do you guys have your own personal opinion about this?

My teeth are already screwed up, so I wouldn’t know.

my jaw always hurts after alot of hammering

Can hammering be substituted for banging in this sentence without significantly altering the perceived meaning of it?

I do believe it can.

I think your wrong.
Although I hope your right.

Did she say TMJ, or temporal-mandibular joint disorder?

It’s possible that it was caused by unicycling, but it’s nothing that a change to better form can’t fix!

I am suffering from this right now. I have no idea where it came from, but it’s a pain in the @$$. I’m going to see a specialist when i get home from school. I can’t open my mouth enough to fit larger foods in. It sucks.

Time to start looking at using gum-guards for trials and muni?

Haha…yea good idea - Lets make ourselves look more peculiar out in public.

Manically grinning smiley notwithstanding, a couple of things.

Q the beginning of the helmet debate in skating circles, circa 1987, was it?

You’re pogo-cycling around on $500 worth of single-wheeled aparatus, wearing a helmet, 661’s, wrist and elbow guards, cluthing the handle in your crotch with all your might and jumping up and/or down a picnic table.
I’m not convinced a lump of plastic in your mouth is going to make you look any more peculiar.

And finally, if it’s a choice between eating for the rest of my life or wearing a gum guard, I know which way I swing.
