mountainunicycling.com is on its way, it was only a matter of time!

Hello all,

About a month ago I did a whois search on mountainunicycling.com and to my
surprise it was available … so I

snatched it up with the vision of putting together a site completely dedicated
to the growing sport of Mountain Unicycling.

Well, that vision is slowly starting to piece itself together. I’ve put together
a small teaser site to show everyone my development progress and to provide a
brief overview of what I’d like to offer on the site. In a nutshell, I like to
provide a resource site for fellow MUni enthusiasts (including Unicycle Trials)
and a showcase of MUni to the rest of the world.

Low and behold, the URL: http://www.mountainunicycling.com

Here’s a brief rundown of specific features I’d like to deliver through
mountainunicycling.com:

  • Worldwide MUni News
  • Worldwide MUni Events/Competition Calendar
  • Beginners Information Section (how to get started (for people who already
    unicycle), basic MUni technique/tips)
  • MUni Workshops (I’d like to deliver articles with detailed
instructions/tips & photos/video for things such as riding down stairs,
    along a log, gapping, etc)
  • MUni Photo Gallery
  • MUni Resources (links off to MUni sites, news articles, etc.)
  • Message Board (multiple subject categories including general MUni, MUni
Research & Development, Tips & Tricks, etc)
  • If people are interested … I am able to provide an e-mail alias
(yourname@mountainunicycling.com) which can forward e-mail off to your
    current POP account.

Of course, I’m always open to ideas and that’s why I’ve posted this message …
to get your feedback in shaping mountainunicycling.com!

Obviously, there is no way I can single handedly deliver all the content that I
want to be available on the site, so I am really looking to all MUni riders (new
and experienced alike) to help contribute what ever you can (ideas, news,
events, photos, workshop articles).

Carl http://www.mountainunicycling.com

(and the primary colour of the actual site won’t be orange … I’ve already
received comments from people stating they have to wear sunglasses while
browsing the site, others have told me that Halloween is over :).

Carl,

Very cool! As it becomes more and more blatantly obvious I never have time to
work on my own site, I will offer resources to you. If you request specific
pictures you’ve seen, I can supply them. Otherwise you can link to my ofoto
page, for the list of online photo albums I have. If, unlike me, you have the
time to maintain it, this can be a great place for all the MUni folks to pool
their data, stories, trail info, etc.

That’s pretty cool too. Now I don’t have to feel guilty about not having one for
unicycling.com:slight_smile:

Stay on top, John Foss, the Uni-Cyclone http://www.unicycling.com

everything you know.
