here is another expiriment…
This time We’re trying AC Mini LE cranks, another manufacturer that has mini cranks in sizes of 135 to 175mm crank arms. the first thing of note is a channel in the back of the cranks that prevents dual hole drilling. the second thing to note is a different chain line where the “dish” of the spider is closer to the frame. that forced me to cut a 27.2 seat post for a replacement crank spacer to move the crank 3 mm further to the outside, which means less of the crank is on the spindle. It works with the weld on mount, and with the spacer may also work with the bolt on, but that’s less likely.
I think we’ll stick with the Sinz product and recommend it for builds with the bolt on in the future. The Adventure Components Mini LE does look good though. The Avid Elixir brakes are the nicest brakes I have ever installed, you can dial the reach of the lever and the avid tri-align caliper mounting system is so easy to set up it’s pure joy!
