Mountain Unicycling weekend in the Netherlands, 28 & 29 June

In the weekend of 28 and 29 June 2003 the 7th Mountain Unicycling
weekend in Limburg is organised by Het Jongleercollectief. Two days of
varied riding in the hilliest part of the Netherlands, a trials course
in a large tent, night ride, fire juggling. Staying in your own tent,
all meals/drinks included.

Their website is at <http://www.jongleercollectief.tk/> then click
“Aktiviteiten!”. Also see
<http://www.xs4all.nl/~klaasbil/muniweekend02.htm> for my report of
last year’s event.

Foreign attendance welcomed.

This has got to be a joke - hills in the Netherlands? Are they man made
hills?

Ja, Ik dank Dat leok is! Say’s Jason in his twisted and broken Dutch.

In the Netherlands they lay pancakes out on the roads and call them hills. In Kansas (yes, I’m a prarie-roamin’ sodbuster) we used to call a hill anywhere you put a ball down and it would roll.

In that part of the country we have hills maxing out at a little over
1000 ft height. My usual MUni ground features hills up to 72 ft high
and those are indeed man-made. Don’t laugh, it’s all we’ve got.
