motorized unicycles

does anyone have a site that documents all the known motorized unicycles,
kits, details, anything?

has anyone taken modern rear motorcycle wheel and rim as the basis for
one? even non motorized to start with. that would be pretty cool looking.

here is the most recent link/graphic i have found of one. the two others
i’ve seen involve the rider being inside the wheel, but this one doesn’t.
one of the images with the rider inside the wheel is pictured at

There was mention in the group before the NUC of someone (can’t remember
who exactly) bringing their new motorized uni to the event. Did anyone see
it, ride it and / or photograph it?

Joe West from Columbus, OH showed off his electric unicycle. Several
people attempted to ride it, but it was difficult. I don’t remember if I
got a photo of it - will check tonight.

Once at a motorcycle show I saw a contraption that the father of one of
the trials riders putting on a show had built. It was based on a Honda
CT-70, but had the frame cut and welded so the footpegs were part of the
rear axle, and the seat was right above the wheel, and a pair of
handlebars came up from there for throttle and brake controls. Definitely
good balance practice for trials riding. This was trials on motorcycles,
by the way.
