Motivation--my inner monologue

It’s an endless battle.

I have an essay that was due on Monday, but I emailed my prof and got an extension. My worry now is that I will only waste more time because I know it’s due later.

The other day I told a friend of mine that motivation is annoying because no one can motivate you but yourself. I said it and I know it’s true. That kind of responsibility is downright depressing.

I’ve just gotta power through. Adapt and overcome.

I’ll get the outline and research done today, then spend tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday writing this thing. 4000 words? Easy. There’s probably way more than 4000 words to be said about the plight of immigrant women in Canada in the early to mid twentieth century.

When this is over I’ll look back and see that it was a good learning experience. My life will be enriched for the effort. I just have to hop out of the future and get going on the present.

Wish me luck.

Good luck.

May the force be with you, and if you look for the girl with the sun in her eyes

you’ll notice shes gone

It’s not your fault for putting that essay off. That sounds like a tough one to start, certainly nothing fun about it. But means you’ll need to start sooner than later. Good luck.

I think the problem with most essays is actually starting it. Once you’ve written a few decent sentences it’s easy to go from there(if you know what you’re talking about), until you hit a mental block. When you hit a mental block, drift laterally.

Good luck! Quack like a duck!

Today is the final research day. Monday and Tuesday (and probably part of Wednesday) will be spent writing. (Note how the plans have already changed–all part of being dynamic, rolling with the punches…)

After I’ve got the necessary research base I will have only to draw from that to get the required information, and thence to victory. Huzzah!

Have good fun luck!

All my life I have been a master procrastinator …
the problem is that it generates anguish.
Here is what I do when I have something to write: I start with small pieces of text: the easiest to write, then once you are “warm” other blocks come in, then you reassemble, write a preamble, smooth the previous blocks, and it’s ok.
