How’s covid affecting your side of the world?
We’re down to Level 1 of our Lockdown, so life is just about back to normal, apart from the masks and some limits on gatherings and international travel.
We had a long lockdown tho.
Also a ban on the sales of alcohol, that was a bit harsh.

The ban on sales of booze?!? Wtf ?! This is inhumane… Totally overkill. On our side of the planet we’re slowly entering the winter season and politicians are freaking out. Even though there’s a lot less casualties than last spring they ban a shit load of activities.
In France, people complain a lot, because of what’s considered overly restrictive measures. Tbh they mainly complain because that’s what French people do…

Because alcohol is known to spread the virus??? 
How are the alcoholics coping? I hear alcohol withdrawal is one of the worsts and lasts quite awhile.

No, but Michigan did something opposite.
“Ban the sale of seed, keep the booze and weed!” is what the Michigan governor said (not quite, I made up the quote, but something like that). She thought it was smart to stop selling anything that could be helpful for people (such as seeds for planting, etc.) at corner stores and just keep the harmful substances legal.
That’s smart.
There’s an alcohol ban in Iran 365 days a year, and they’ve been pretty bad at handling the pandemic…
The thinking was (and it worked), to prevent filling hospitable beds with accident victims from vehicle accidents and general tomfoolery.
Drinking-and-driving is like a national sport around here, it’s pretty shocking.
I suspected they may do something like that, and laid-in a stock that saw us thru the initial lockdown.
Then they extended it.
The cost of a bottle of whisky on the ‘informal market’ trippled compared to what is was in the bottle stores.
Eish.
We didn’t do too well at all.

Last I’ve heard he was living in Mexico. He is fairly active on facebook but I haven’t seen him on the forums yet. I wonder if he still has his @Godby status here.
