I do ride still but not a percent as much as I used to because my knee says no. Got operated on once, it got better and after I started riding more intensively in 2019 it started to hurt again. So i said screw it, I need my knee to work, and stopped commuting or recreationaly riding.
I now take an ebike to go to work and dash through my 10k ride in Paris in less than 25 min. So that’s an improvement I guess.
My sons do ride, so I ride with them around the neighborhood, but I haven’t tried taking them to the forest yet. We had our first off road training last summer and they liked it. Muni might happen in 2021 for them. I might consider riding with them then, as the bike is strengthening my knee, I really miss it.

OK got it you fooled me. I had forgotten you were a photoshop master. I realized it while looking closer as you haven’t changed a bit since your last picture a few years ago, those gray hair were just a decoy.

I’m fifty now and I make that old-man-noise every time I bend down or get up.
Plus I had a spectacular unicycle/squirrel accident about a year and a half ago.
I won’t go into details but let’s just say that when I sat up on the dirt and looked at my broken little finger sticking out at a ninety degree angle, it was then I thought, “Maybe I should take up something a little less dangerous?”
Suffice to say I’ll never play the piano again.
I’ve often looked at ebikes and thought, “Maybe…” but then I think about my mountain bike and it would feel like i’m having an affair.
I had the same feeling when I switched to riding a bike last year. Since I never had any serious relationship with a two wheeler before I was mourning the end of my monogamic affair with unis… But my ebike does make my 45 old self more mobile, so it was well worth it. It would probably perform the same magic on your hilly commutes in Cymru.

I’ll postalonathon next week when I’m done all this field work and after Thanksgiving weekend… But I am also having an affair with an ebike. Maybe we should make a club.
