Is this festival as cool as the show makes it out to seem?
Last time I was in Montreal, it was during that winter carnival where people would carry strechters around to pick the drunks out of the snowbanks
The winter festival with Bonum (english pronounciation of french word) Carnivale
is it THAT fun?
Well⊠Brian, you know that Just for Laughs Festival and the âCarnaval de QuĂ©becâ are two different thing. Donât you?
Personally, I would recommand the JFL Festival. But Iâve never been to the english version of it. Itâs always better to look out which comedians will be on stage the date youâre planning to come, 'cause sometimes thereâs some ââexperimentalââ show that can be weird, but still funny in my opinion. I found a live show to be worth it : itâs of course more expensive, but laughs are longer and you get all the deleted scenes.
For the ââCarnaval de QuĂ©becââ, well itâs like something you could want to do once in a lifetime. But no more than once! I lived in QuĂ©bec city for more than 7 years, and went to the winter festival only twice. If you want to have a feeling of what itâs like, you have to :
-Get yourself a load of Caribou liquor (a mix of porto, sherry, vodka and brandy)
-Gather with the more ââparty peopleââ you can find
-Find a really cold place to hang out
-Get a costume like this
-Drink the said Caribou (hot or cold) in a long flute to make it faster
-Try to stay on your feet while giving a hard time to the Bonhomme Carnaval
Iâve never seen that winter fest in Montreal, so I donât know Brian⊠are you sure you were not the one on stretchers?
Caribou!! Now I remember, boy that was awful.
and if you trumpet too much, you get a cut bloody circle around your mouth
(i went to the carnivale, but i think just for laughs also looks like hoot)
hey vince, you need to email me asap, you never responded to the one i sent
