Moment Crank Insert Issue

I hate to be the bearer of bad news. The inserts on my Tensiles spin a little when I remove the pedals. Not bad enough for it to be impossible to remove the pedals though…yet

Ugh, not good. I’ve got a pair of Tensiles waiting for me right now. How long have you riden them?

I think I have had them 8 or 9 months now. I used to swap my pedals between my trials and my muni because I only had one set. Took a few months of doing it to work the inserts loose though.

I went to the LBS with my left crank see if they could repair it, but they didn’t have the right tools. So, I’ll try to to something for it now, if it works I’ll post some pictures. It’ll help everyone hopfully:)

To everyone who wants to repair their Inserts without having to buy a tool, here’s how I did it:)

You will need:
1 piece of Ply-wood
2 screws
2 washers
Super-Glue if you want to be sure that it doesn’t get loose again (I recommend it)

The pictures says everything how to built it. It worked for me, but now my insert is a little bit scrached because of the screws… but it’s tight:D

I just went for a ride and noticed the inside of one of my inserts (the part pictures above on the inside of the crank) was loose to the point of falling off and another one had fallen off. I had never thought to check them before or heard of them coming off. The outside of the insert (the part that you thread the pedal into) is solid and not moving.
Can you get replacement parts for these? I haven’t seen the tool anywhere.

Nice spanner wrench dude!

Haha! thanks! It stills work perfectly too:) It`s one of the best tool I have:p

I got another pair of cranks with a pedal that I can’t take off from the insert. I put the insert in the crank with blue Locktight but it didn’t worked, the insert is still moving. Anyone can help me with that?
