Modify or buy a Pashley?

I’m debating on modifying my Savage or just saving up a bit more and getting a Pashley? I’m going to be using this 24" for minor MUni and street riding, distances under 5 miles. Right now I’ve got a set of S&M platform pedals, and I’m getting ready to order a Miyata air seat. Should I continue to mod this one or just buy something higher line? I was thinking if I got the Poznanter Hub by Profile and traded my 175mm Profile cranks for some 170mm, then all I’d have to get would be a good tire.

$249 for Poznanter Hub
$99 for Air Miyata
$75 fora good wheel.
have cranks + pedals

basically I could have my Uni hooked up for $425, the same price as the Pashley I was looking at.

you sould buy just the Pashley frame or a Semecycle frame.then tranfer your parts…

Here’s the ultimate plan.
I recently sold my BMX bike, netted me around $300.
Right now I’m on the 24" Savage with S&M platform pedals.
I’m going to be ordering this first;
Miyata-style Air Saddle with Carbon-Fiber Frame - $160
And then next will come the;
Semcycle XLW 24-inch Frame for $55 until I can afford a really expensive frame. (Might get a Miyata instead)
Afer the seat and frame come in then I’ll drop a lot of cash;
Poznanter-Profile Hub with Sun Doublewide Rim, 3.0 Gazz Tire - $559

I Muni’d with a guy yesterday who had the profile hub with 170mm cranks.
He could climb really well with them. He has a Profile frame with a 26" x
2.3" Nokian Freddies Revenge Studded tire. I was on my Sem XLW 24" x 2.6"
Gazz. He’s been riding since summer and I just started five weeks ago. The
trails had a lot of log crossings and he would just roll right over them,
while I would hop them. A newspaper reporter came out and took some
photos, so hopefully it makes the paper today. Cheers…Joe from Iowa

Things aren’t looking so good. The Miyata seats won’t be in stock for a while, and I mean a while… :frowning:
I’m going to start another post and see if I can find a used one.

ok, I might be wrong here, but it seems to me that a Gazzaloddi 3.0
doesn’t fit in a Sem XLW. But it does have some decent quality components
for under $300, which seems darn cheap. That is all I can think of. Max

I realized that after I posted. :frowning:
I’ll probably go with a 2.6 tire for that rim, until I can afford the Kris Holm frame and then I’ll bump up to the 3.0
