Moab Video

Hey, this is a shout-out to all you people planning to go to Moab in march. Now that I’ve decided that I’m definitely going to the Moab Muni Fest, I can reveal my true motives and see if I can get your thoughts on my plans.

I’m a multimedia specialist/video editor by trade. I’d like to advance my career in the exciting world of video production, and I need to build my demo-reel. Any editing or production skill I may have is purely academic without having a real project to work on and to show off.

So, what I’d like to do is produce a video of the Moab Muni fest, not for sale, not for public distribution, but just so I can produce the best video I can to use as a showpiece when I start trying to find better jobs. What I need is to make sure everybody involved with the weekend is OK with being videotaped. I’ve already contacted Rolf and I’ve got his blessing, but I don’t want to put anybody in a position where they are being taped when they don’t want to be.

Clearly, this won’t count as complete permission from everybody, but at least I can get a good cross section of how the participants will feel about it. I know some of you may be professionals who may have to limit their screen time and some of you may be reclusive relatives of government officials. Whatever the reason, I won’t be offended if you don’t want to be taped.

I won’t be directly making any money off this, but I will be using it to get me a job. I will gladly provide copies of the finished product to any of the Moab participants who may want one.

As always, you can email me off-board with your thoughts at nbrazzi@unicyclist.com

Re: Moab Video

I’m planning to be there and it’s fine with me. I don’t imagine anyone will
have a problem with this, especially given your motivation and your offer to
give anyone there a tape.

Looking forward to it!

Re: Re: Moab Video

Thanks. Fortunately, I have access to a duplicator at work. I may regret it when I see how many tapes I have to buy  , but I think its the least I can do for the people starring in the video.

My son and I are planning on being at Moab and neither of us are professionals or reclusive, so we have no problem being filmed. Can you edit it so that my head appears on Nathan Hoover’s body while he is riding?

I’ll be attending and I want a vid if you can make one for me after(Ill pay you if you want). Id love to be in the tape if you need an interveiw im your man or boy im not sure what i am. yell for Catboy and I wont be shy to yell “WHAT?”. Not to sound like a ham but it would be nice to see myself in a video for once.
-Eric

sounds great, hopefully I will be there (if I can get a wheelset for my muni) and I would love that

Everyone will probably be fine with taping. In fact, if you don’t plan on selling or broadcasting it, I don’t know that they can have anything to say about you taping them as they ride on public land. But of course it would be rude not to ask.

But if your tape is good enough to get you work, it should be good enough for the unicycling community to want to buy. Keep this in mind when you make it, and you may be able to cover some of your costs.

As for the people in the video, I’m sure they will be willing to at least pay for the blank tapes and shipping. I am and I’m sure Nathan is. People who are too cheap can come by your house and pick it up when it’s ready
