Moab Munifest featured on KSL TV

KSL TV (SLC NBC affiliate) had a brief story about this weekends Moab Munifest.

I was able to capture the clip and have posted it to the gallery.

The video is:

KSL Video of Moab Munifest 2004
Type: MPEG-1
Video: 352 x 240 NTSC
2.40 Mbit/Sec
Audio: 44.100 KHz, 16 Bit, Stereo
Size: 12,110 KB

Glad to see someone else has made it back.
So MUnis have shocks, but don’t have brakes…
I think that it should have been the other way around. Sure, there are exceptions, but I’m guessing that there are more MUnis with brakes than with shock absorbers (unless you want to count the 3" tires as shock absorbers…)
Besides that, they showed too many pictures of people falling off while doing relatively easy stuff. It makes us look like a bunch of wannabes.
Thanks for posting it though!

Although I think that the stuff people were falling off while attempting wasn’t easy (steep uphills rolling are really hard), it did look that way from the viewers point of view.

Thanks for the capture mgrant!

Here is the text that accompanies the video clip:

I find it funny that they state that the unicycles don’t have brakes or gears but I rode one with brakes and Steve Howard had one there with gears. The only Muni with shock absorbers that I’m aware of was John Foss’s (it had a shock absorber in the seat post).

Who’s kid was that on the red unicycle with a mag wheel. and how old was he? Looked fairly young.

Michael, thanks very much for grabbing the TV coverage and posting the link. As coverage of these events goes, I’d rate this about a 4 out of 10, but any coverage is good coverage.

Bugman, that kid on the red unicycle is Scout Engbring from Telluride, age 5.

Thanks Nathan. I love watching kids that size/age ride. It is like they float across they ground.

I believe John Drummond’s setup also had a shock on the seatpost…but then, you’d expect him to have the coolest gear
