Miyata: Deluxe or standard?

Hello all you one-wheelers!

My sister and I would like to buy 20" Miyatas soon to concentrate on tricks.
We’re wondering which unicycle is preferred in the advanced uni world: standard
or deluxe? Are parts of each better? For example, the wheel or the frame? Or is
one overall better for tricks? Is the deluxe worth the extra $50? Or is the
standard worth the wait for the fall shipment?

Thanks!

As they make frequent changes on componenents, it’s hard to compare what parts
you get between the two models. The main difference is the alloy rim and chrome
frame on the Deluxe. The chrome frame will hold up a lot better to the uses and
abuses of life (mostly being loaded and unloaded from cars & things). The
painted fork of the Standard is of course that interesting shade of green Miyata
has been shipping. You have to like that too. But that Standard frame does offer
a bigger place to put your feet for one footed skills, making it a more popular
frame among the coasting/gliding set.

As I understand it, they only ship twice a year. So it depends how long you have
to wait… I’d get the Deluxe.
