Minnesota Muni Weekend. 2011, September 16-18.
Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area has opened brand new (mountain bike) trails near Ironton and Crosby, MN. Crosby is located about 2.5 hours north of MSP International Airport.
$10/person advanced registration.
… Registration gets you 2 nights camping, necessary vehicle permits, and goodies.
Registration IS limited. First come, first served.
Schedule:
Friday September 16th:
Afternoon travel.
Evening we will do a nearby warm up trail. TBD.
Night: Camping at Portsmouth Campground.
Saturday September 17th:
8:00AM We will do about 3+ hours of riding in the AM at Mahnomen Unit.
NOON We will break for lunch and recovery. Carpool to Subway in Ironton.
3:00PM Will will do another 3 hours or riding at Mahnomen.
(Yes, there is enough that you won’t do the same ride twice)
Evening: Dinner.
Night. Camping at Portsmouth Campground.
Sunday September 18th:
AM We will ride the very technical Yawkey Unit, Lead by Joe. Or a coker ride on the paved trail with Kirsten.
Post ride: SWIM. The water here is perfect. Bring a towel and dry clothes for the ride home.
NOON-ish. Eat and Leave.
