Mike Parenteau interview

Hey guys,

I’m the guy that owns the company that’s been filming Mike Parenteau. Have you seen the interview we did with him?

This has already been posted, but it is still awesome!

I never heard of this guy until the frontflip teaser. Now I’m inspired.

May I ask, as I can’t stop thinking about it. Did he really land the frontflip?

He said on pinkbike he landed it.

All these Mike videos are making me want to try muni. I may just have to buy another unicycle.

dudddudududduude this guy is awesome!! i sooo wanna meet him haha thats cool to see the different styles of unicycling taken to the extreme and getting more exposure

Veeeeeeeeeeeeery coooool, he comes to Austria in September. That takes places where I live, so maybe I will meet him :sunglasses:

didn’t watch the whole vid: what are you talking about? what’s gonna be in austria?

by the way, i think it was a question of time seeing a frontflip on a muni, with a soft and steep landing i think it’s possible, all his other riding (what ive seen so far) isn’t that extreme, i’ve seen much more “extrem” (one and two wheeled…)…

He said that he will come to the MTB World Cup in Austria and I’m sure he means Schladming.

Next Kris Holm?

i don’t see what’s so special…

and austria: you’ve got david, i know his riding and i can tell that’s extrem (ok no frontflip) but how many times did he win the downhill at unicon?

What’s special about that, is that he comes to Austria, little little Austria.

And yes, I know there’s David, but I think it’s cool that uni riders from other than our neighbour countries come here, too

you missunderstood me: it’s cool he’s coming, i just can’t see what’s so special in his riding…

Where would I find a video of David? I really want to see one.

400th Post!

Is there any link? I’d like to meet this guy, cuzz i ride MUNI too and i live next to Austria (Slovenia btw.)… Is this competition for UNIs too? Is any1 coming to 12th Salzkammergut Trophy*?

This should help you: http://www.mountainbike-weltcup.at/
But be aware that he not directly said that he will come there. He only said in the interview that he goes do MTB events and immediately after that he said that he will come to Austria in September (so I was thinking about the MTB World Cup in Schladming).

And yes, I will come to the Salzkammergut Trophy for my first Downhill event ever (I am riding MUni for 3 months now). In addition to that I know about some others here from Austria who come there but I don’t know if they are registered here.

It’s pretty cool the way Mike is approaching Muni. He doesn’t even practice any trials. He only focusses on steep technical down hill riding. Everything I’ve shot him on so far has been a uni with a fixed hub. But Chris Holm just gave him one of his uni’s with gears and a free spinning hub. He’s been practicing with it in Quebec. He says his speed on the steep downhill stuff just about the same and sometimes as fast as mountain bikers. When he gets back we’re planning on shooting some faster stuff. I can’t wait.

I’d never really followed muni before I started shooting Mike. But from what I’ve seen it’s cool to see how the sport’s progressed from Chris Holm…kinda the father of modern muni I’d say. Then Adrien Delacroix with the first competition front flip. You guys are definitely into a cool sport that still has a lot of potential to grow and develop.

Free spining hub didnt knew that kris builds them do you have any more infos about them?

By the way it is Kris Holm and Adrien Delecroix. Mike should come to unicon or to some downhill races in europe (dont think that there are dh races in america).

i wanna see that: downhill riding with a freespinning hub  …can’t believe it. can’t believe either, thet a muni rider is as fast as a biker (downhill) and i think i’m pretty fast allready (geraed hub, first in the 24" now in the 29") and did race with bikers at freeriding events and 24h race… there is no way to be as fast as they are on the full-suspesion bikes…

i’ll believe if i see it…

I think it’s possible (have never seen it yet) but if so then only on VERY technical terrain with lots of big rocks or on very narrow trails where two wheels are more a handicap than a help.
