'Microsoft Internet Keyboard' - Installation problem...

We were just given a ‘Microsoft Internet Keyboard’ as a gift but are having some problems. You have to install something to set up the shortcut buttons things and it came up with an error when I tried to install it. It can’t find a specific file (see attachment)…could someone tell me why I don’t have it? Or what sort of file it is or something? Or how I can get it?

Thanks,
Andrew

Sorry, here’s the message…

Re: ‘Microsoft Internet Keyboard’ - Installation problem…

cant u get help from the microsoft site itself?

I was going to do the same thing Dave. But I may help for Andrew here. Did you get the Software that came with it. (CD ROM Installation Disk) If it’s a OEM Andrew, you may have to take it to a computer shop to installed it. Don’t do it yourself. They must be Licence to do it. I want to be a OEM Installer but I can’t find the website to do it. (I appreciated help Thanks) Is it a Corded Keyboard or a Cordless Keyboard. Mine’s a Logitech Cordless Keyboard with Internet Shortcuts (Not Installed Yet)
and I fell in love with a cordless keyboard. Actually I’m Typing this now. I’ve been using this keyboard for the past 18 Months when I bought it from Aldi Stores. For that type of file It’s new to me. So I can’t really help you with it unless you logged onto the Microsoft website. Goodluck Andrew and keep me posted with that so I will let my workmates know about that.

David.

Well I went there, and probably should go ahead and ask them, but I was worried about having to pay for it…because they mentioned something about that. I guess I’ll just ask them.

David,
It’s cordfull :). I did everyting properly and followed the instructions and you’re meant to be able to install it yourself. It just can’t find this file or something.

I guess I shouldn’t have started this thread…it’s a bit pointless. Sorry. No need to reply to it anymore, I’ll just go ahead and ask them.

Andrew

Now I remember why I didn’t ask Microsoft. My browser just stops for no apparent reason before I can find an email address of phone number. At the same spot every time.

Cordfull…That’s new to me. Funny all I heard is a Corded Keyboard. That’s Ok Andrew. Going to the Microsoft Website is the best choice but to download any update software is from the U.S. Be careful and always read the Terms & Conditions before you start the Downloads. I too heard about have to pay to download all the Software & Hardware Items, but I been told it will happen into the future. So We will have to watch out for it into the future. To me It should be for Free. And I mean It should be for Free to update our Software Items. Good luck Andrew and keep me posted on that. I’m Curious with that file when it comes to me.

David

No need to worry anymore guys, it’s all fixed. Mum rang the info line today while I was at school. Apparently our Windows 98 was too old for the keyboard or something so they did something to get it working again.

Andrew

Dang, I guess I should have checked to see where andrew_carter lives.

****Happens John Eh! That’s Good News Andrew. Right- Subject Close.
