Okay, well i was practicing my hops today on a three stairs and i was working on getting up the third one. but i could never get it quite high enough. I kept banging the lower half of my wheel into the brick step. I noticed that the wheel had warped at the point where it was being hit.
Its a pretty crappy uni, avenir beginner. I had been doing some pretty big drops on it (upt ot4 ft) and some of the spokes might have gotten a little loose.
So is there anyway to fix this? tighten some spokes? hammer the rim back? get a new rim?
id prefer not getting a rim cuz of low cash. im holding out for x mas
take your uni to a shop that caters for our two wheeled friends and ask them to sort it for you. The bike shop near me will true a wheel for about £5. However I’m quite lucky in that I have a mate who’s pretty nifty with all things spoked and sorts that sort of thing out for me for free. The only problem you might have is the people in the bike shop might not be able to make the uni fit in their jig…I seem to remember my mate muttering something about my uni wheel not fitting in a jig. But he sorted it somehow or another.
anyhoo. Hope you get it sorted out. A bit of advice for the future though, just keep an eye on the tightness of your spokes. They should all be the same or similar tension. And if your wheel starts making a creaky noise then get your spokes tightened.
