Marathon at UX

Jack,

This is not an official answer but when I asked if there was an unclassified
category I was told yes. This implies that there will be a normal category as
well. I am not sure that Cokers will win anyway, I have heard about the 30"
Sigmarno unicycle (very sexy and light) and over such a short distance like 10k
it will do very well.

John and Andy,

Yesterday and today we are having our Japanese nationals. I never fail to be
amazed by the new skills – some I and probably almost no one else have ever
seen before.

Anyway, there is a rumour here that there is no limit on wheelsize and crankarm
length for the UX marathon. The rulebook doesn’t mention this specifically as
far as I can tell.

Could you please confirm? If that rumor is true we Cokerheads are going to take
away all the prizes!

An “unlimited” 10K was run at the same time as the “limited” 10K at Guilford
(UNICON 8), so you chose the category in which to compete - I guess you’ll
be going against the other Coker’s, geared giraffess and 28"'s with tiny
cranks. Leo White

I checked the reg form and found this:

** The marathon will have the standard class and the unlimited class. Standard
class competitors for the marathon compete in their age group. Unlimited class
is for any competitor, regardless of age, with no restrictions on wheel size or
crank arm.

So I guess the unlimited is on. Andy, are the hosts aware of this? There is no
place in the form to indicate which one you want to chose.

Yes, there should be, as I wrote in another message quoting the reg form.

Who sells these?

BTW, speaking of selling, will you bring equipment to sell at UX? I and I’m sure
other will be interested. I defintiely want to but the lightest /smallestwrist
guards you can get, and other ‘Cokerware’ – great word

…SIGMARNO sounds nice but SIEGMONO is the right spelling… Georg Siegmon

So it’s true, Roger does sleep with his unicycles!, sexy, indeed. Trev has one,
and yes I’ve tried it and yes it is rather sexy and nice  If I were a serious
( rich) marathon rider I think it’d be a good machine to do it on. But I owned a
coker first and still can’t justify having a 30 inch as well, besides , the shed
is pretty full!

sarah who has one unicycle classified as cute

Sigmarno, I have spelt it wrong I know!

I am not going to be bringing anything to sell, I am struggling to achieve my
weight allowance as it is. Even with CF uni’c and changing all my cranks for
aluminium ones am over the allowed limit!

Yes, there is a unlimited category as well as the normal age group category
(with the same wheel max and crank minimum as the other point races). As for
figuring out who will be in what category, hopefully it will be obvious. We may
have to have a sign up at the start of the marathon.
