Mangas and other comics

How many of you read comics regularly. I read a lot of Donald Duck, Lucky Luke, Calvin and Hobbes and Asterix. I even have ordered a Donald Duck magazine so I get my weekly dose of it. My favorite artist (on Donald Duck) are Don Rosa, Daniel Branca (here’s a link if you don’t know him), Carl Barks and Daan Jippes. I like Brancas style the most but Don Rosa makes the best stories. Of course there are some Finnish comics on my favorite list too but you can’t know any of them, I presume.

On manga side my favorites are Blade of the Immortal and Dragonball (a lot better as a comic), but almost anything goes for me, because mangas usually have a lot better plot than European and American comics. Too bad these are pretty hard to find in shops.

If someone is wondering about mangas ad anime look here:What are anime and manga?. It gives a little description that compares manga, anime and western comics. This is almost the same link but here are other texts too: Rei’s Anime and Manga Page. Some of you might want to read the Against Anime/Manga Stereotypes -text if you have something against manga or anime.

I don’t like anime/manga, but I love comics like Calvin and Hobbes. Also FoxTrot is one of my favorites.

RED MEAT

i love this comic. if you click on the link they have all of them on the web.

these are some red meat choice cuts:

I like Sinfest a bit more. I read it on daily basis, but otherwise not too much of those webcomic thingies. I just like my comics to be on paper.

red meat is on paper. they have it in the local tucson paper, that’s how i found out about it. they just put them up on the web too.

Oh. It has not landed here yet. Well, anyway, I like reading longer stories more. Those mangas are sometimes insanely long stories. There’s already twelve books (between 200-300 pages) of Blade of immortal and it’s not even close to the end of story.

it never will joona, it never will.

holy crap zach that’s the funniest thing i’ve ever heard. you know, somebody should make you king of the universe. or better yet, reality. so… kind of like god, but not.

One of my favorite comics out there.

(that comic is pretty funny chex)

I read the comics everyday in the Montreal Gazette. My fa vorite ones are Dilbert and Get Fuzzy. A couple of weeks ago Dilbert had a “mystery artist week” where Dilbert’s artist would ask other artists to draw his daily…It was pretty cool.

Oh, and I also like Fox trot.

For thoes that are lazy and need encentive to see what they are missing…
