how can i make one? can i use a bmx wheelset w/ 14mm axle? what should i make the plates out of? aluminum, diamond plate, steel?! i don’t know! what are the best parts for a durable bc wheel? also i need stuff that won’t rust easy, cause here in FL, even plastic’ll rust.

If you’re going to make your own plates, EB Plates are the only way to go (Weight wise).
Use .065" thickness 3/4" steel tubing. And 1/8" - 1/4" thickness main bracket plate depending on if you plan on doing ridiculous drops on it.

cut two peices of angle iron and drill the correct diamater holes right in the top
you forgot to mention the step where you bend those pieces of iron into unusability. the only iron strong enough to use for bc plates is so thick it’s hard to work with and too heavy to ride with.
