I’m magical.
I was walking down the road the other night and I turned into a bar.
I have this one trick where i have my guest choose a card
then the put it back in the deck, i shuffle and then put a handkerchief over the deck
then using my magic powers i use just my finger to levetate the card out of the deck
I used to be able to read peoples minds over the internet…probably can’t do it anymore. It was flippin sweet though.

well ive been doing it since i was like 10 ish…and i did it before juggling and unicycling
but i aint got any tricks on video sorry 
i mix some flourishes and fans with cards and stuff into it aswell which gives it a little bit of omph…umm…i do a bit of work in reastraunts sometimes…doing close-up magic
and im part of the Magic Circle which is cool cuz there is workshops and stuff
habby whats with the sudden interst in magic??..you should get into it…its seriously fun…and DEFINATLY learn some card flourishes…it just screams awsomeness:D
its funny…but has anyone noticed how this forum attracts people who have all sorts of “weird” hobies? Like (obviously) unicyclers, jugglers, there was the pogo stick thred, and now magic…i love it! Someone needs to start a thread about shark riding or something…

i didn’t mean weird like that, i put it in quotes to show, that they are the type of hobbies that Avereage Joe Schmo will look at and say “wow…thats weird…” weather or not they are acctually strange doesn’t matter.

Wow, thats harsh. As a magician, I can say that I, and a lot of other magicians do not have a big ego at all. We perform and do the tricks we do for fun, to see the amazement and shock left on peoples faces. Besides, if everyone knew how the tricks were done, it would make all of them very boring and only a few will still want to see them.
When I watch a trick I already know how it is done, I am bored with it. but when I see one done that I dont know yet, and it leaves me amazed, that is the magic. The mystery behind it all.
You have a lot to learn about magic.

You dont need to be magic to have the common sense to help someone who has actually been stabbed.
I see nothing dark or evil about it.
I do a trick for some little kids and see how happy that makes them, how it sparks their interest and they want to learn how to do tricks. How they tell their friends, "OMG! I saw this one guy levitate! It was so awesome! 
"
If bringing joy and smiles, and amazement to people is evil and dark, then I think you need to rethink a few things before posting about this again.

I respect your decision to have these irrational views about magicians. But in all honesty it seems as if you are the one with the big ego. If you have such a problem with magic. Don’t view the threads titled MAGIC…duh.

Speaking of magic. I toured a couple of colleges this weekend on unicycle and i usually always carry around a deck of cards. I wound up doing a show for a good 8 people or so. As if unicycling isn’t impressive enough, i get off and put on a magic show lol. <—Not to say that i do either of the two simply to boost my ego. I do both unicycling and magic for the same reason; i enjoy doing them.

I’m not helpless. I like watching good magicians perform. That’s what non-hobbyist magicians do, they entertain. People who don’t like magic need not watch or be entertained. I like physical skills when they’re done well. A lot of magic is precise physical skill, especially lots of card tricks.
Because magic is not sword swallowing or fire eating. A sword swallower sticks a sword down his throat. A fire eater puts fire in his mouth. A magician does not cut anyone in half. Surprise! It’s a trick! For the most part, the audience already knows this. The entertainment is in trying to figure out how the hell he did it.
Try to keep an open mind about it, and you may even find yourself appreciating the skill of magic someday, even if you don’t like watching it.
Only the evil magicians are evil. Like the evil unicyclists.
