i’d like to see these videos but unfortunatly i only have a dialup 56k connection,
the problem is not that i don’t want to spend three days downloading,
it’s the fact that the server dosen’t seem to support resuming downloads
this means that when my conection times out after my alotted hour and then reconnects it has to start from scratch. most modern ftp and webservers support resume these days
would someone be kind enough to mirror them to a server that supports resuming? i’d be realy happy.
Ok, I was pretty lazy when I setup that server… plus I on campus where everyone just assumes everyone else has OC3 connections to the internet. And now I just don’t have any free time… anyway,
If anyone familiar with linux software could recommend something worth using on my server that would support resume, perhaps I could find a few minutes to give it a try.
i’m a bit of a linux person myself, but i don’t run a server, however i did some research and found an ftp daemon that’s better than the standard ftpd/wu-ftpd

but as usual with linux it probably comes with your distribution.
it definatly is in debian. which is the best flavour if you’re a hippy like me.
i’m prety sure that apache supports resume too.

If you like I could copy them on to CD and post them to you. It will still take you one hell of a long time to download them over 56k and your phone bill would be pretty hefty. A couple of months ago I got ADSL, it makes these things so much faster (and no tied up phone line or huge phone bill).

i have unmeeterd access but it s only from 6pm till 8 am so i set up my compter to download things at night.

I wish I was, unfortunately I’ve got other commitments (boring, house repair type jobs ) . I’ve just downloaded the video section of the web site (minus a couple of the huge juggling ones) and it is about 1.5GB in total. That’s about 60 hours download time on a 56k modem assuming a clean connection, so the offer still stands of sending you the CDs (half the job is done now anyway).
