looking over shoulder.

I ride my uni at the local park.and when ever i come to a junction i try
to look over my shoulder for on coming cars.but it seems like when i look
over my shoulder i turn the way im loking.some times it is a realy sharp
turn, which gets me all fouled up.so is there a way of doing this with out
the uni turning ? Thanks. Shane.

I sometimes will counter-twist with my arms, so if I’m looking over my
right shoulder, I’ve got my hands around my left side. There’s a natural
inclination to travel in the direction you’re looking, so I think twisting
my body forces a turn in the opposite direction and cancels it out. I’ve
been riding a 20" in a group of Cokers, so I’m constantly having to look
around for them passing me, and making sure I stay clear.

I think trying to keep your shoulders in place (facing forwards)
should help stop twisting. When I need to have a good look around I’ll
stop and hop.

Cheers, Neil
