I have visited the Bedford site (Just a pdf list price) site and unicycle.com site.
I would like to be able to avoid large shipping costs, duty, insurance, etc cost to be added to price of a new unicycle.
Also it would be good to here from the community their recommendations for preferred vendors for unicycles.
I am shopping for a 29" unicycle.

There aren’t that many anywhere…Bedford is likely the closest one to you. Definitely the best, anyway.

Some times local bike shops carry uni’s or are affiliated with UDC and can order for you. Your best bet however would be Bedford (best selection, fair prices, and reasonable shipping costs) based on the fact that you are located in Eastern Canada.

Darren Bedford is definatly the way to go. You just need to call or e-mail him. He will probably even get you a deal if you ask, he is a good guy. I only live an hour away from him but I still sometimes get stuff shipped and he’ll send it before we’ve even written the cheque lol
Dont be put off by his website. Its old and hasnt been updated in a while.
Like everyone else has said, call him up or e-mail him. Calling would be better though.

I called Darren and
I managed to reach him on his cell phone.
Over the phone he was able to get a price for unicycle, shipping cost, etc.
He recommended the KH 29".
Apparently this unit would meet/exceed my needs.
Now I understand why other members recommend him, he was knowledgable, helpful, and took time to answer my questions.
Next step for me is (WAF) wife acceptance factor.
Its alot of dough for a single wheel. Perhaps I may need to consider used.

That’s what unicycling conventions and other unicycling meets are for. 
Now you just need to justify the travel expenses and vacation time for some unicycle test rides.
