Limerick's, the lure

I was wondering whether anyone else out there was into limericks and if so did they have any favourites? They have sort of gone out of fashion in the last few years.

my personal favourite:

There once was a man who said: ‘God
Must think it exceedingly odd
If he finds that this tree
Continues to be
When there’s no one about in the quad’

this is not what got me though, the reply was priceless:

‘Dear Sir, your astonishments odd;
I am always about in the quad
And thats why the tree
Will continue to be
Since observed by Yours Fiathfully, God’

There was a young man of St Bees
Who was stung in the arm by a wasp
They asked, “Does it hurt?”
He replied, “No it doesn’t”
I’m glad that it wasn’t a hornet

“It’s so lonely in the saddle since the dog died.”

There was once a great diety
Who never could spell “faithfully”
The believers all prayed,
for this god to be saved,
by the grace of one, Miss Ayelery

You win…that was great.

You’ll win her heart for sure. :stuck_out_tongue:

I keep trying. That should get me to second base at the very least.

One can only hope.

Did anyone ever figure out where she disappeared to?

She’s only been offline for 20 days, 3 hours, 27 minutes and 16 seconds (give or take). She’ll be back soon enough.

How…uh…romantic…I think.

You have an odd view of romanticism.

You better have known I was kidding.

…wow, you’re a dumbass. You need to learn to stop taking posts on forums so seriously.

Do I need to start putting <sarcasm></s> around every post?

<sarcasm>yes</s>

yes.
