I LOVE juggling to Beatles songs. Have any suggestions? Are you referring to the Chris Bliss videos?
Thanks, and hey look! I didn’t even notice. That was my 100th post. Not many but this forum really made me realize the value in forums. Who would have thought this simple unicycle forum would be such a great wealth of knowledge, networking, friends, and business ops (among other things).
That was awesome, great song too, I don’t listen to it enough. Have you heard the version by portishead? Also the juggling in that was probably the first time I have actualy wanted to learn some juggling tricks, so it was quite inspiring, I have no idea why.
Hey thanks a lot everyone! This is a terrific ego boost.
NOTE: This tutorial is really only for those with Final Cut studio 2 because it utilizes the application compressor.
I used this export tutorial that is supposed to make youtube videos better quality. I’m not really convinced it worked, but if your video is standard 4:3 aspect ratio it works wonders. It gets a bit more complicated if your video is 16:9.
BTW i really just did a quick edit of for this video since it doesn’t really require an special editing. One day I will post some of my work from school as I am in my third year of study to be a digital non-linear video editor.
Nathan (I think i remember that being what the N stands for, I apologize if I am wrong), i have not heard the version by portishead nor have I heard any of their other stuff, but for some strange reason “Portishead” sounds super familiar… do they have music in a movie soundtrack, or where might I have heard them? hmmmmm I will investigate. I will also dl their version.
lpounds, is this you? And do you really juggle only for 10 months? You’re good. You got me to juggle again after a while. My 5-balls are back to 20 catches now, after a long break. Thank you:)
Yes, that was very nice juggling for only 10 months in! Smooth.
Juggling while idling is quite a bit harder than juggling while riding. You probably need to work on your idling (I’m guessing the juggling is just fine, especially after watching your 5-ball cascade sitting down). Practice idling with your hands in your back pockets, and with your arms crossed tightly in front of you. The object is to isolate your upper body from your lower, so you can work the unicycle without needing your arms or upper body.
Hey thanks. Yeah it has been ten months but I have to say I practice at least 2 hours a day nearly every day. Usually watching tv and throwing the balls in my line of sight. 5 balls is a very odd number, though. A youtube tutorialist once said that when you learn three balls usually you kind of ‘get it’ within a day or two of practice, and then from there on out you just improve your control. With 4 it’s the exact same learning curve for 3. For 5 it seems as if it takes you weeks if not months to fully ‘get it’ before you can begin worrying about control.
HEY! This is fantastic… I’ve thought about this exact learning strategy before for long distance unicycling but never put it to the test for idling. My idling is wobbly at best but still consistent. I will try this instead of dismounting next time one of the many stop lights forces me to here in downtown Toronto. Thanks
Well, I have more problems with four balls than with five. Basically because, I don’t like four. It doesn’t look as impressive as five. I’ve been learning five balls for two years soon. But, because I take a lot of long breaks in between, I still can’t master it. My personal best so far is 24 catches. I’m planning to improve that in the next few days. Another thing I found fun and challenging is: doing tricks in reverse. As soon as you learn a trick, learn it in reverse. I’m currently working on three ball shower in both directions and the robot (machine) in both ways. Then I’ll probably go and learn behind the back juggling on the left side now (your right arm goes behind your back and to the left of your torso, so you juggle on the left side with both arms). It’s tricky at first, but it gets fun after you get it. You can add limbo to it then
