Levels

I just passed level one, how hard were the levels for you?

I’m pretty much level 2, just have to get more consistent with mounting with my right foot and I need to find a place where I can ride 10m between 2 parallel lines. I’ve been riding for a year. But it took me a long time to learn to ride. I took a couple-month break from unicycling a little while after I started and then started back up again and really learned to ride and freemount. I also have only done about 5" drops, I think. One thing I can really do pretty well is idle with my left foot down. I’ve idled up to 30 times that way, but can’t idle at all with my right foot down. I need to work on my right-footed skills.

It took me probably 6 months to become level 1, but like I said, I got a slow start. How long have you been riding?

it all just takes time building up your muscle strenght and the cooridnation it takes to control them… I’m right now working on a level four and all i really have to do is get down the one footed ride and I’ll be there. But I’ve been riding for 8 years almost with a couple of breaks in there- some lasting up to a year or two~ so 8 years isn’t completely true. (its hard to ride when you dont have a unicycle of your own)

but just stick to it… try riding places instead of walking and riding your bike, and it will just come to you. Maybe start out each “practice” with a lap around your block or to the end of the street and back…
good luck!

I’ve been riding for 1 1/2 weeks, I can do all the level one stuff, plus I can go over a curb, do wide turns, and freemount with both feet.

Wow! 1 1/2 weeks? After I had been riding for 1 1/2 weeks I could maybe push myself off the big freezer in our garage and make one or two rotations of the wheel before falling!
