my dad got one of these kind of letters a while back
1MBp/s to 4MBp/s i think
Do they charge you for the other 7% increase?
Yeah, but have they ever sent a letter saying, “A whole bunch of your neighbors signed up for our service too, so expect that your transfer rates will be much slower during peak hours.” If your transfer rates aren’t guaranteed 24/7, then are they really providing better service? They probably just got a bigger pipe that will offer more bandwidth in the middle of the night when most people are asleep. I suppose that will help if you’re torrenting all night or something.
Way to ruin my euphoria with facts.
Only 5?
How quaint and old-fashioned…

I still like my fiber network, and hate my local cable company. Until there is competition in that market, I intend to stay away. Our TV is now Dish Network. My fiber-optic Internet connection (and phone) is through SureWest Broadband, formerly Roseville Telephone Company. The company that had a unicyclist on the cover of their 2002 phone book.
The marketing people obviously didn’t run this through accounting.
