Hello!
I recently had to change the tyre of my unicycle, and took the whole
whell of. It was the first time, so I probably unscrewed some bolts
which shouldn’t be. These were the bolts which connect the cranks to the
wheels. After I put it back, the bolt on the left crank keeps getting
loose when I’m riding because the cranks are turning the same way as you
would turn the bolt if you were to unscrew it. This was never a problem
before and is very annoying.
Does anyone have any experience with this problem? What can be done?
make sure you didn’t put the wheel back on backwards. (If you have directional pedals they will look funny to you.) To be sure, try removing the pedals. If the wheel is on correctly, then the pedal on the left side as you sit on the uni should be threaded backwards (counterclockwise to tighten, clockwise to loosen), and the one on the right should be normal.

where he gives a very good explanantion of how to deal with various crank/pedal problems. Also, search the past threads where John Childs, Roger Davies and others describe pedal and crank problems in some detail including diagnosis and repair.
and I would add: don’t ride on with loose cranks at any time!! The
square fit gets out of shape too easily, and you’re looking at quite
some cost then.
