Leaving to climb Mount Kilimanjaro

The thread title just about says it all.

On Monday I’ll fly to Tanzania, overnight in a hotel in the small village of Munshe and on Tuesday, along with two friends, I’ll start the accent of Mount Killimanjaro, the highest peak on the continent of Africa.
The entire mountain is a proclaimed nature reserve, so ‘unusual’ activities like mountain b*king is strictly outlawed.
Being a screaming bunny hugger, I will honour these restrictions and not attempt to uni up the mountain.
I will be taking a 12" with me and hope to become the first person to ride a unicycle on the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro.
I’m not sure if this will qualify me as the highest unicyclist in the world, I suspect Bhutan probably starts at about that height, 5895 m or 19 340 ft.
Either way, it will simply be a fun novelty pic to add to my personal collection.

I’ll be back in civilization on the 5th of June.

If I can see your house from there, I’ll wave.

Climb-a-time!

Bonne chance, mon ami.

Don’t forget to take a small hip flask to warm you when you’re at the summit.

Have good fun luck, Gild! I trust in you. Climb hard and rock high!

And come back in one piece.

Get a picture of you juggling three while your up there too!
Have fun while your doing it!

Good luck, have fun and take lots of pics!

tell us about your experience: my daughter wants to climb the Kilimandjaro with her father …
if suffering from high altitude: hot chocolate+brandy … but normally this would not happen if you walk up.

Yeah anyway that sounds sweet good luck!

Best of luck, Dave. Are you testing the waters for a bid for seven summits?

Apologies for the cussing, but the Brooklyn in me just has to say, Fucking A!

Have fun, Dave.

Will both of you be scaling the twin peaks?

Our plan is to fly to Nairobi, and then, ask.

I have a complete lack of faith for this expedition and everyone on it!

Oh. Well…how about you?

I’m game, sir!

What a trip that will be. Have a great time.

Here’s a Kilimanjaro web cam. I’ll be watching for ya up at the top there.

GILD,
I’m already in my tree looking out for you. haha,
this sounds like an awesome trip, and I can’t wait to hear all about how it went. And of course the pictures, awaiting those aswell.

can someone please tell what day Dave was looking at reaching the summit? I am to be interviewing him but the only information i recieved was that he would be leaving monday.

He’s starting the climb on Tuesday, it says that in his post silly goose.

yes but the only info i can find about climbing this said large rock is that it takes between 4 to 6 days to climb. that is alotta time to hang around a phone waiting for it to ring.
