I know that it’s not very exciting for some of the really great riders on here, but I landed my first 180 unispin today, just days before my 38th Christmas. Two in a row and then one later on it’s own.
I want everyone to know that if you want to be able to do these really quick, the 180 jump mount and 180 of pedals really cut the learning curve in half. took about 10 minutes of jump mounts and 180’s of the pedals and I got the unispin on about the fouth try.
Thanks to everyone who has written a unispin tutorial, your knowledge is much appreciated.
I just landed my first one a few weeks ago too. Still only about a 50% success rate, but I don’t practice them nor do I really care about them. My big problem is spinning it another 180 when my handle is faced toword me. It’s mainly because of fear though, because when I was learning I smashed my balls right into the front of the handle trying to spin it back around.
I’m trying to learn 360’s now so I won’t have to worry about doing the 180 again to make the uni face forward
360s are a whole diff ball game… good luck w/ learning them… they are mucho harder and i don’t know what the fastest anyone has learned them in, but I bet its at least a month, maybe 2
ahhh i need help with this… ive read all the tutorials and ive been practicing for about 4-5 days now on the 180 unispin and i just cant get it… when i try them it seems like my kris holm handle always gets in the way or i fall off backwards because im not far enough forward to stay balanced for landing. I was thinking about taking the front handle off, but ive seen so many people do it with it on so i think its just me. Anyway ill keep trying, but any help would be appreciated.
I’m learning as well. And I also have a 24". I’m sure I could do it if I wasn’t afraid to. Just like a lot of other things in life. Maybe by learning the unispin I’ll sort out those things, who knows?
Yea the only sary thing about a 24" is that is higher off the ground. Other than that it isn’t really much harder to land. If you can unispin a 20" you can easily do a 24".
Remember that you have to have the seat end up in the same position as it was when you jumped. That means that you need to keep it tilted and infront of you. I got stuck on that too. Check the angle of your seat before you jump and try to match it on the landing.
180s are easy took me a few trys to land my first one i remember it like it was yesturday oh wait it was lol, ok really i learned back in sept. but i guess it came easy to me cause it felt like the pogo stick i use to goof around on, but i haven;'t landed a 360 yet but thats my fault i try once or twice a month and give up on it cause i cant get my one foot on the pedal and it pisses me off. ya i got a short temper at times, you should of seen me tring to get the luna off the rim but thats a different story i’ll leave for a different post
I broke my sisters pogo stick doing the 360’s on it stupid cheap toys’r’us pogo stick lol
I also watched alot of vids of ppl doing their uni spins, so i like to thank spencer for posting his up, its helping me with my 360’s now only if i can get my other foot on the pedal i’d be laughing
