unless you already have a thompson or other high end bike seatpost I would try steering clear or rails. They bend and add weight.
I did a quick search but could not find it in the US UDC but what you would need if you don’t want to go with a rail adaptor and bike post is this
hey, saskatchewanian is right which is why I switched , but if you still want one, I have one. pm me for more info.
Thanks…
I was assuming it would be less than bomber but the Surly Conundrum frame has a 28.22mm diameter frame (I think that’s about right). Anyway, I have a bunch of rail-type posts that fit perfectly in the frame. Eventually, I’d like to have a bomber set-up but for now…I’ll stick with what I have. DO you guys know of a non-rail type post to fit my frame?

According to Surly the conundrum fits a 28.6mm seatpost, and the frame comes with shims to accomodate a 27.2, which is the size KH frames take. You could use any 27.2 KH seatpost including the standard non-adjustable as well as the adjustable variety with the shim.
Probably the lightest, and most bomber set up would be a Thomson Masterpiece seatpost 28.6, with a Scott Wallis DeRail carbon fiber base. Of course it’s by far the most expensive, and the DeRail base isn’t always available.
Thanks…
Actually, I have a Ritchey WCS carbon seatpost from a orad bike that seems to fit perfectly! I may get the thompson setp and already plan on getting a carbon base ASAP
