Kris Holm Pro Uni

Does anyone else think it would be awesome if kris holm, Shaun J. or someone made a unicycling video game. It would be sorta like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series, the new project 8 or something. I think it would be sweet to ride around a city or skate park on a little virtual uni and control unispins and crankflips with the flick of a button. Or there could be a mountain level for muni and trials and what not. Im sure i would buy it, if it ever came out and it certainly would attract attention to the unicycling world. Any thoughts?

could be cool, but probably would be lame.
would be really hard to make it realistic and still play able at the same time

woah… déjà vu. i SWEAR this is has been made before… exact same wordiing too…

There’s been so many threads about it that I wouldn’t be surprised if there has been another thread with similar wording…BUT anyway! I think it would be SWEET but EA games or whoever probably wouldn’t make it unless they were certainly it would sell really well, and while skateboarding and BMX are really popular, unicycling isn’t quite.

and you could upgrade your unicycle’s components to gain more speed and you could get a new tire for a better jumping height and how cool would that be to just be riding your uni, see a 12 set and 540 unispin down it and then throw in a crankflip to handrail! But I agree before people would buy this video game they really have to know what people are able to do on a unicycle in real life so it’s not just some random idea some guy had but it can actually happen. then people would be more interested. So until we can get more tv specials and stuff like that about unicycling, a video game wouldn’t work.

Shit. I’ve examined this whole system before. Like different button combos would be for tricks if the seat was in, out, or backwards and out. A button would be to go backwards to, so if you pulled a 180, and didn’t hit the backwards button you would fall or hop in place until riding forward. It would be radical. That’s by the way my life goal. I had to set it high didn’t want to accomplish it at a young age.

What, to fall off after doing 180?

I agree. Just like hand-to-hand combat, skateboarding, mountain biking, hang-gliding, etc.

Airplanes and cars are a little bit more simulatable, as you don’t actually use your arms, legs and body mass to make them work…

Lol I almost got 180* today

no joke…i was JUST thinking about this yesterday…way creepy…

This has been discussed, another member on the forum and I actually started development however we both became preoccupied with other projects before it got too far. If there is anyone out there experienced in 3d modeling and animation I’m still willing to do the programming aspect.

I agree with what has been said before. I don’t think a unicycling game should/could be made before unicycling itself was popular or atleast well known, it just woulnd’t work. Don’t get me wrong, there have been so many times I have sat playing Tony Hawk games thinking, “I wish there was a unicycling game like this” but I think a game would be a product of unicyclings popularity rather than anything else.

I contacted the person who was originally doing the 3d modeling in hopes of starting this back up. Shaun, and anyone else, I’d love to hear some suggestions as far as game play and controls go.

how about you have A SYSTEM OF TWO CIRCLES (sorry caps lock) and a balance meter is right in the middle and a (the balance meter is a little dot) and as you ride around depending on what you are doing your dot will move and the idea is that you have to keep the balance meter in the middle of the meter but the further out you go the faster you got and well I haven’t fully thought it out but it might be the best idea for a balance meter

The only problem I have with game play like this is that when you are just riding around in real life, is balance honestly always on your mind? Or are you just pedaling and riding?

You have to balance on a skateboard but you certainly don’t have to control your balance all the time when playing the Tony Hawk games, a uni game like that would be like a constant grind in tony hawk, and that wouldn’t be very fun.

Maybe balance like that in a trials mode would make sense, but not when you are just riding around.

This game won’t be going retail or anything, it will be free for our community, therefore I think it would be great to have the community’s influence in it.

I already have Kris Holm Pro MUni. It’s been out for several years. It requires actually balance to control. Very realistic. Loads of fun.

Link?

or do you mean real life?

I’ve thought about a 2D online game, where a person is riding a unicycle.

In the first level, he/she’s only got to avoid dangers.
In the second level, he gets juggling balls he can throw at enemies (but the only fly a short distance).
In the third level he gets juggling clubs he can throw at enemies, they fly very far.
In the fourth level he gets fire torches, they damage more.

He could optionally get points for collecting… things (say, small uni-keyrings), and with those he could by weapons and better uni-parts.

Any more ideas?

YA i thinck some 1 should e mail a big video game coumpney and get them to mack it     ide by it the frust day it comes oout

I think it would be awesome if you could do different things to your uni.
Personally, I would be playing the street mode incessantly going off 10 sets busting huge unispins and not feeling any pain uponding bailing…
We totally need to email a huge company and have all of us sign some sort of petition thing.
