There is a great two page picture of Kris in the December 3 issue of
Sports Illustrated. It is accompanied by a nice sidebar article that
doesn’t make him sound crazy; well not completely. The story is also on
the web at: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/features/siadventure/10/unicycle/
But, I didn’t find the big 2 page picture that is the magazine.
Is this “Sports Illustrated,” or some spinoff mag? I found a copy of the
Dec 3 SI, and couldn’t find Kris in it.

It looks like SI Adventure is a free monthly bonus section for those who
subscribe to Sports Illustrated. I have not been able to find SI Adventure
at my local news stand. I guess those of us who don’t subscribe to SI will
have to be happy with the web version of the article.

It is in the copy of Sports Illustrated that was delivered to my house, in
a section called SI Adventure. That section is included included the
magazine with the same staple that holds all of the other articles. But, I
do see that it is on page A12 and A 13, and the SIadventure section is in
the center of the magazine, and on closer examination I see that the
section is described as “a new Sports Illustrated bonus section that
explores the excitement of outdoor sports.” It goes on to say that “This
free special bonus section will appear every month in your issues of SI.”
So I guess it may only be in magazines targeted to subscribers who fit the
‘Adventure profile’ and wouldn’t be in a news stand copy. Rats. Still,
there it is in a copy of Sports Illustrated. Rather mainstream.
