A brief search didn’t answer my question so I thought I’d just start a new thread.
I have a GP trials frame which fits a 27.2mm seatpost (with a shim) and the original seatclamp might need replacing as the end of the bolts (where you put the allen key in) are getting a bit rooted.
So what I want to know is will other 27.2mm seatpost clamps like the Koxx-1 or KH fit my frame?
I’m pretty sure seatclamps are all the same. But since I have a K1 seatclamp and I can vouch for it, I say get a Koxx. It really doesn’t matter though, other then the fact that the K1 clamps are in alot of different colors
Yea I was aware that the K1 and KH clamps are basically the same I was just sort of meaning either of those. If I do get one it would probably be a white K1 clamp.
I couldn’t find any calipers in Dad’s toolbox so I made do with a spanner and tape measure and OD diameter was 32mm which is the same as the K1/KH frames isn’t it?
And yes, GP is an Australian brand. From what I’ve heard they’re the same as the Summit Trials uni which was based on the 03/04 Kris Holm trials uni. It is an awesome frame and I love the low tyre clearance, it’s just a shame it weighs a ton!
yes then, a koxx/kh clamp will fit, as the ID of the clamp is 31.8mm which I assume is the true OD of the seat tube. Have fun and get your seat clamp as soon as you can!
