im trying to get sponsored could you help me find some sponsors
Think of who wants visibility. Newspaper ads are expensive. They reach 100,000 readers. But not everyone sees them. And once the reader is past that page, the advertiser’s opportunity is gone. Paper goes to the recycle bin.
Everyone looks at the Unicycler. Every time you ride down the road, you draw attention. Just like Nascar.
Think of what you can do for them instead of what they can do for you. The former takes care of the latter.
Will you wear Tshirts for them? Will you speak on their behalf? Will you distribute coupons?
Maybe a drycleaner. (Nobody dirties clothes like a MUnier.
Maybe a B*ke shop or Skateboard Shop. (You’re out amongst their customers).
Maybe a Pizza Joint. (They always have coupons)
Maybe a Bank. (“Find Balancing Difficult?? Don’t worry, we offer overdraft protection”)
Maybe the ice cream joint will create a quadruple stack cone called “the giraffe”. (It takes skill and practice to eat)
You need to know how they advertise now. How much do they spend to reach how many people. Then make sure you’re a better deal.
A mere $500 buys a spot on the Tshirt for 6 months!!! In addition, you will hand out their coupons or flyers for $10 per 1000.
They don’t care what you get out of the deal. They want exposure. Maybe you agree that in addition to wearing that Tshirt whenever you ride for 6 months, you will ride around in their parking lot holding a sign that says “Large Pizza $8” during Friday’s rush hour.
Chris, why dont you wait a lil while till you start lookin for random sponsors around town, youl prolly get the sixsixone, they love sponsorin uni people, but you arent that good yet, I know cause I taught you most everything you know, wait till you can at least grind or crank climb or something, when you go to the skate park you just ride the flat stuff and chill, you gotta have a lil more skills to get more attention, or a girrafe;) .
I get free Jamba Juice, JJ Gear and food for life, because every so often I put on the Banana Suit and ride around on my uni and give away samples(thanks to a friend who hooked me up with the gig). It’s about 3 hours of work a month for a $70 jersey, $20 in mugs, infinite Jamba as well as being able to have my own custom stuff, and free food4g3.
Make a demo video/DVD and take it to tall the local bike shops. Give it to them, and explain your situation, blah blah blah. Hope for the best.
Now i like the jamba juice one, that one he could do, I wouldnt mind doin that, sounds like fun.
