Knights of the Old Republic

i started playing Knights of the Old Republic on X-box today and it is the most insanely confusing game ive ever experienced…

what is going on…?there are more options than a swiss army knife! yet, there is no jump button…?..?

im some where on the planet looking for a way to get past the Sith guard at the door to the lower level, but all the boring pop up muck i had to get though on my way there made me just not give a damn about going any further.

when you attack, you just hit the A button and it does it for you while you watch…? i dont get it.What kinda game play is that…?

this game is putting me asleep.

glad i didnt buy this one.

i think Y is jump on hte x box but that mgiht just be on some games…worth a try

nope, there is no jump in KOTOR.

Y is yet another melee attack.

Knights of the old Republic is more of a 3D Role Playing Game sort of thing. The idea is to plan your attack strategies based on the skills and abilities of the people in your little team. Your not really supposed to control the attacks like in a platform adventure, like Mario or even Tomb Raider. You assign them what attacks to perform and let them do it. It’s like a turn-based strategy game like war sims and stuff. I think the game is as much talking to people and solving puzzles as it is about fighting.

I don’t like games like this, but my roommate loved knights. He’s playing through for the third time. He went all the way through twice - once as a good jedi and once on the dark side.

I muchly prefer platformers like Mario - and there aren’t many on the Xbox. (I’m a Nintendo person). If you want something more “adult” with some action RPG elements, but still lets you control all the fighting and even jumping, I reccomend “Pirates: The Legend of the Black Kat”. “Morrowind” is another, but it must be at least as confusing as “Knights”. If you don’t mind cutesy games, I played a demo of “Billy Hatcher” that looked pretty good. It’s more of a Mario type game. If you really like Star Wars, there are plenty of flight/battle sims like “Clone Wars”.

thanx for that nbrazzi

this game is like 1986 Zelda on steriods,i starting to get the hang of it but the constant stop N go of reading and option chooseing makes it the slowest game i’ve ever played.it literally saps my energy.

you say your friend played though twice, once light, once dark and is playing though again.what on earth is he now?

Well, this time around, I think he said he’s playing into the dark side, and he’s using a female as his main character because he wanted to see what a female would look like when she’s evil. Remember, folks, this is what he said, not me.

ps, I realized Billy Hatcher was a GameCube demo, not Xbox - so if you are looking for cutesy platformers for Xbox, I guess I can’t help. I think Sonic and Rayman 3 might be available…

jagur, please do not make any comparisions to the 1986 Zelda. Nothing comes close and nothing ever will. End of story.

give me a freaking break…

i agree Zelda on the N64 is the best game ever made and will always be

awh ha ha ha,Treepeach…im talking about the original Zelda on NES not the 64 version…last i checked the N64 wasnt around in 1986.

anyway,look at Link now.hes a bobble head…

Wow! Am i the only geek here or what?
You people need to stay in more.

Either way you look at it, KOTOR has broken all Selling records for the X-Box and has won many prestegious awards.

I’m just waiting for it to be released on the PC later this year.

Sorry you can’t jump, Jag. I know how hard it must be to play a video game where you can’t jump. But then again… when you have lightsabers… who needs to jump?

force jumping is a big thing in the screen plays,i just thought it was weird that it wasnt in this “record braking” game.

the pacing of the game was way to slow for me,ive stopped playing it.last night i went out and rented Blinx

Blinks?

No wonder you hate KOTOR, It totally not your style. I suggest you never play the following titles,

Neverwinter Nights and all realated games,
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind or related games,
Splinter Cell and related games,
any puzzle or PnP style RPGs.

Stick to Jax and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, and Crash Bandicoot.

i rented Blinx because i needed the farthest thing from KotoR i could find and my kids needed a faster more fun game.its pretty fun exept for the damn camera following.

dont forget Outlaw Beach Volleyball,i think im buying that somday, not for the kids though.its to suggestive, but the game play is really good.there even bobmbs on the court!

jagur…

i take that little elf freak on any day.
